The Assessment Center has decriptions of all of the available assessements for 1st Franklin Financial employees and candidates for employment. The process for taking assessments is defined in the PowerPoint Presentation, above. The three forms for assessment candidates are listed below and must be completed prior to scheduling the assessment process with the Strategy and Organzational Development Department.

Coaching

Several years ago I began working with InsideOut Development to deliver a program to our management team on goal setting and coaching. The theme of the program was focusing attention on “Taking Valued People Where They Need to Go.” The basic understanding of performance is that most of the time we are learning a new skill or we know what to do. Most people can perform at higher levels. The biggest obstacle is not that they don’t know what to do. They don’t act on what they already know. So the idea is to help them focus their attention toward action.

The focus was to help the individual clarify their thinking by first recognizing what the issue was and great a goal surrounding the discussion. Next involves probing a series of options and discussing the positives and negatives of those options to make the appropriate choice to try.   It was also important that know what the appropriate actions should be taken to find the best way forward to action. Coaching also includes helping the individual probe the type of obstacles that may arise and how those issues could be overcome.

This philosophy has been expanded througout the relationship with InsideOut and the expanded program has introduced Faith, Fire, and Focus.
